Because they are taking Scholastic Ability Test!!
It is very important because they go to university
with this test result.
Therefore, they prepare for this for over a year.

In korea, as a superstition, people usually give the students
1. Yeot (something as taffy)
2. Rice cake
Both of them are sticky, so by giving them
they are wishing the students
"to get the certain grade they need
to pass the universities's standard"
Sticky = don't fail !
