Today, I'll tell you about Public transportation of Korea.

<<SUBWAY>>

Subways run in Seoul,Incheon,Busan,Daegu,Daejeon and Gwangju.

The Seoul Metropolitan Subway extends to parts of Incheon, Gyeongi-do, and Chungcheongnam-do. 

The standard fare is 1,300won(cash) and additional fare is added depending on distance traveled. 

For assistance from a station employee, press the round button that says ''HELP'' on the emergency exit turnstile.

ADULT FARE

SINAE(CITY) BUS / Blue or green buses operate around downtown Seoul.

FARE - 1,300WON(CASH)/1,250WON(CARD)

Gwangyeoksi(Metropolitan)BUS / Red buses connect Seoul to nearby metropolitan areas.

FARE - 2,500WON(CASH)/2,400WON(CARD)

Maeul(TOWN)BUS / Smaller buses operate within a town and stops at subway stations and red bus transfer points.

FARE - 1,100WON(CASH)/1,050WON(CARD)

Taxis can largely be divided into standard taxis, deluxe taxis and international taxis.

Rates begin at 3,000WON for standard taxis, 5,000WON  for deluxe taxis(BLACK)

 and 3,600WON for international taxis.

with additional fare depending on distance traveled, and there is a 20% additional late-night fee from midnight to 4am.

Fare can be paid by cash, credit card or T-money cards.

USING TRANSPORTATION CARDS

Use a TRANSPORTATION card when taking the bus or subway and metro transfer without incurring additional charges up to 10KM.

This only applies when transferring to another means of transportation within 30 minutes.

(from 9pm to 7am within 60 minutes) and can be used up to 4 times.

Transportation cards must be tapped on electronic reader when getting off in order for the transfer to be recognized.

T-Money

Prepaid transportation card for all buses ,subway ,metro and taxis (excluding select areas)

Where to purchase? - subway stations within the city, convenience stores with the T-MONEY logo

Price

Card is 2,500 WON

Minimum recharge 1,000won

Refunds available in 10,000won

T-Money,M-Pass

Rental-type transportation card for foreigners.

Can be used up to 20 times in one day for buses,subway and the Airport Railroad.

Where to purchase? - Seoul Tourist information Center by gates 5 and 10  on the 1st floor of the incheon international airport, Myeong dong Tourist information Center.

1 day pass : 10,000won

2 day pass : 18,000won

3 day pass : 25,500won

5 day pass : 42,500won

7 day pass : 59,500won

(5,000won reatal fee not included/4,500won refund upon return)

Single Journey(Subway)

Single Journey transportation card for use only subways.

Where to purchase? - Subway station vending machines

1. Select your destination

2. Insert deposit and fare into the machine.

3. Retrieve the card.

4. place your card on the card reader.

5. Insert card into vending machine after getting off to get your deposit back.
